Sir Bishop ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Sir Bishop chess puzzle app (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Sir Bishop is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:

• Game Progress Data (stored locally): Solved puzzles, bookmarks, Composer positions, settings and preferences. This data lives only on your device.
• Purchase Information: When you make an in-app purchase, payment is processed by Apple. We receive only your subscription status (active/expired) — never your payment details.
• Crash and Error Data: Anonymous technical data to help fix bugs (e.g. device OS version, app version, error logs). No personal information is included.

We do not collect your name, email, location, or any personally identifiable information.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the App experience
• To manage your in-app purchase entitlements
• To fix bugs and improve stability

3. Data Storage

• Local only: All game progress, bookmarks, Composer puzzles, and settings are stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
• No cloud sync: We do not use Firebase, iCloud sync, or any external database for user data.
• Deleting data: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.

4. Share Feature and Universal Links

Sir Bishop allows you to share puzzles via a link or image:

• Shared links use the domain sirbishop.app and contain only chess position data (FEN notation) — for example: sirbishop.app/puzzle?fen=.... No personal information is included in shared links.
• Shared images (PNG snapshots of the board) contain no personal data.
• The domain sirbishop.app is used for Apple's Universal Links verification, which happens automatically when the App is installed. No data about you is transmitted during this process.
• We do not track who opens shared links or images.

5. Composer Feature

Custom puzzle positions created in the Composer are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to any server. When you choose to share a Composer position, only the chess position data (FEN notation) is included in the shared link or image — no personal information.

6. In-App Purchases

Sir Bishop offers optional one-time in-app purchases (Rook, Queen, and King modes). Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your credit card number or billing information. Apple provides us only with your purchase status to unlock the relevant features.

One-time purchases are permanent and tied to your Apple ID. To restore a previous purchase on a new device, use the Restore Purchases option within the App.

7. Third-Party Services

The App currently uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

8. Children's Privacy

Sir Bishop is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we collect no personal information from any user, this requirement is met by design.

9. Internet Access

The App uses internet access only for:

• Processing in-app purchases (via Apple's StoreKit)
• Generating and opening Universal Links for puzzle sharing

No personal data is transmitted over the internet in either case.

10. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Delete all data at any time by uninstalling the App
• Manage purchases via your Apple ID settings

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
