Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the Sir Bishop app. By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Sir Bishop ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not allow you to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written permission
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

3. In-App Purchases

Sir Bishop offers optional one-time in-app purchases (Rook, Queen, King modes) that unlock additional puzzles and features. All purchases are:

• Processed by Apple through the App Store
• Subject to Apple's payment terms
• Non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policy
• Tied to your Apple ID and transferable across your personal devices

To request a refund, please contact Apple directly through the App Store or at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. Composer Feature

The Composer feature allows you to create custom chess puzzle positions. When using the Composer:

• You are solely responsible for the content of positions you create
• Custom positions are stored locally on your device
• When you share a position, only the chess data (FEN notation) is shared — no personal information
• You may not use the Composer to create or share content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive

5. Share Feature

Sir Bishop allows sharing puzzles via links (sirbishop.app/puzzle?...) or images. By sharing content, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it complies with these Terms. We are not responsible for how shared content is used by third parties.

6. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including puzzle positions, artwork, sounds, fonts, and code — is owned by Sir Bishop or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. The chess puzzle positions included in the App have been curated for educational and entertainment purposes.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs. We are not liable for any loss of data or damage resulting from use of the App.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sir Bishop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Children

The App is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information should contact us immediately.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with Apple's standard developer agreement terms where applicable.
